Database Manager
iParadigms seeks a Database Manager to join our Operations team. As a very hands-on leader of a small team (one other person) you'll help us design, implement, scale and manage the large database infrastructure that drives our products, and have significant impact on our operational process and long-term technical approach to new products and initiatives. This position reports to our VP, IT Operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Help design and support our database infrastructure, including planning for High Availability, zero downtime maintenance, and disaster recovery
- Work directly with engineers to architect scalable applications, design schemas and migrations, and tune the database engine and individual queries
- Play a key role in an ongoing project to shard our large critical customer-facing databases
- Work directly with the operations team to select and tune hardware, manage change, monitor our infrastructure and support long-term planning/scalability
- Assist Accounting Manager with year-end audit requests
- Accurate order process and billing which includes the review of sales orders and generating invoices in a timely manner
- Participate in an on-call escalation tier for critical customer-facing issues
Requirements:
- Significant previous work experience supporting 10+ mission-critical database servers in a high-volume, large table (hundreds of millions of rows), high-rate-of-change environment
- Experience implementing replication architectures across multiple geographically-distributed datacenters
- Experience designing, implementing, operating, and automating a large sharded postgreSQL environment
- A deep understanding of postgreSQL (and ideally mySQL) internals, replication technologies (esp slony) and performance optimization techniques
- A working knowledge of industry hardware trends (SSD, FusionIO) and experience evaluating/tuning the hardware underneath a relational database engine
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, including a history working across multiple internal teams to help resolve problems at all levels of the technology stack
- Solid scripting skills in perl, shells, SQL
- BS in Computer Science or a related discipline

Accounts Receivable Administrator
iParadigms, LLC. is looking for an experienced Accounts Receivable Administrator who will work with our accounting group. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position works closely with the Accounting Group and Sales Support teams in the US and our UK subsidiary to ensure sales orders are processed accurately and efficiently. We want someone who will work effectively with all team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the revenue process and system improvements
- Partner with Sales and Sales Support teams
- Review accounts receivable aging reports
- Reconcile month end sales in NetSuite and Salesforce
- Assist Accounting Manager with year-end audit requests
- Accurate order process and billing which includes the review of sales orders and generating invoices in a timely manner
- Ensure accurate billing information
- Assist with collections as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years hands on experience with accounts receivable
- MS Office Skills (Word and Excel)
- Ability to be self-directed, prioritize, meet deadlines and take initiative
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Highly organized
- Problem solving ability
- Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus

Senior Systems Engineer - Datacenter Ops
We are looking for a talented Senior Systems Engineer to join our team supporting our high-availability SaaS datacenters. The systems team is responsible for managing over 500 Linux servers in 3 datacenters for a 24/7/365 day highly available web application serving global customers in the secondary and higher education markets.
To succeed you will need…
- 4+ Years in Internet-focused Systems and Administration
- Expert Linux skills with CentOS or other RedHat-based Linux variant including server deployment (kickstart, cobbler, etc), patches and updates from internal or external repositories, kernel including device drivers and tuning, all filesystems
- Experience with configuration management tools such as CFengine, Puppet or Chef
- Comfortable in 24x7 operations, you are experienced in the operations environment and capable of dealing with incidents and performing on-call shift rotations.
- Experience designing and managing DNS, DHCP
- Experience building RPMs and managing RPM repositories
- Familiarity with F5 LTM management, or knowledgeable in Layer 7 load balancing
- Experience with private Cloud infrastructure a plus
- Programming experience a plus
- Networking (Cisco) experience a plus
- Bachelors degree preferred but will accept equivalent work experience
